What to do when it’s hard to smile

Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad…!” Matthew 5:11-12a, The Bible (New International Version)

It can be hard to smile when people or events in life make us feel sad.
We don’t want to do much or to go on because deep inside we feel bad.
Experiencing the loss of someone special, a job, encouragement or hope;
can run us into an emotional and mental hole where it feels like we can’t cope.

This scripture reminds us that when people are cruel that we should rejoice!
It may not make sense, but it’s better to listen to a positive way forward or voice.
Knowing that God is on standby is comforting to believe and to know.
So when it’s hard to smile, rejoice! Be glad! God’s peace will soon flow!
