How does your heart look?

But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7, The Bible (New International Version)

Looking or dressing well can give first impressions so that people accept who we are.
We judge each other for many reasons; making our decisions about the other from afar.
However, sometimes it can be detrimental when we judge others to cause despair.
We focus more on how we look to others – trying to get their attention or care.

This scripture reminds us that our hearts are more important than what's on the outside.
God isn't concerned about how we appear; he cares about how we look inside.
Others may reject us because we don’t look or appear to be a certain way.
Let’s dress our hearts with love, peace, kindness and mercy – starting from today.
